combine that with classical tuning methods and that should be it.
the DR650 engine is a completly other kind of drive, doesn't like low rpms at all, shakes and rattels like hell under 3000rpms, but pulls far stronger from there on.
the DR800 on the other hand is a engine I would really like to have in the savage, it pulls strong even from low rpms but still has much more top-end power, so if it's not a legal problem to transplant an DR800 engine in the Savage frame ( and if it fits somehow) in you country I would recommend that, probably cheaper than messing about with the ls engine and you'd have to do it really good to achive the kind of performance you can get from the 800 (btw. in germany you can easily get performance-parts for the DR to get up to 90hp, but not street-legal and not cheap!5000$+)
